Newhaven has given several hundred thousand pounds to a shit-hot web design company – Molten Java – to redesign this blog site.
After months of to-ing and fro-ing, they’ve recommended a controversial move away from our old monochromatic WordPress ‘Hemingway’ template to this ‘Default’ WordPress Template with customised header. They say this radical rebrand will enable Newhaven to ’continue setting the web agenda by forging a new visual vernacular with the boundless blog community.’ And I, for one, am happy to pay big bucks for that.
If nothing else, this gives us a chance to get the word ‘vernacular’ into our Tag Cloud. We hope you are enjoying the fruits of their labours.

Much more powerful. I think everyone will agree. A strong use of BLUE is good too – there’s really no room for subtlety in communications these days.

Technically, it’s not Blue. The designers at Molten Java have used their own patented shade of blue called ‘Crispy Fiver Blue’. I know … it sounds like a Cocteau Twins track … but they assure us that this shade of blue is particularly alluring. They tested it on midges, and found that they were ‘unusually drawn’ to this colour. And while humans aren’t midges, they expect Crispy Fiver Blue to have the same sort of pulling power on the blog community.

I’ve so much to learn. What’s the latest traffic to the blog? Is it loads yet? Is it?

Total views are up to an impressive 231.
That’s an average of 115.5 people a day viewing our site.
If this continues, a total of 42,157.5 people (who might otherwise never have heard of us) will have been drawn to the Newhaven brand.
As a case study, this is already beginning to look like a shoe-in for a Marketing Effectiveness Award.
